Silly puppies. They are so hard to get pictures of. They were having way to much fun! Orange boy about scared us to death! He jumped off the log into the water and swam all the way out with Ziva to get the duck! I wish I would have got pictures or a video of it!
Addie's orange boy is available! He is, sweet, energetic and very cuddly! He will sit on your lap and cuddle for as long as you will let him and is always up for an adventure! He is $1500 Feel free to join the Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1259784864062677/
They are growing like weeds! Gold boy, is the smallest but he has the biggest personality! They are all such sweethearts!
They are getting big! They have started drinking goats milk and will start eating puppy mash later this week.
All Shela's girls are spoken for, I only have 5 boys available.
I posted Addie's puppies pictures in the Facebook group. When I get nice pictures with my camera I will post them. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1259784864062677/ Here is a list of things to start getting and planning for.
You will need: A good veterinarian! I require that you take your puppy to the vet for a check up within 4 days of getting your puppy. Making an appointment for your new puppy ahead of time is one of the first things you will need to do. Your puppy will come with a vet record that your vet can reference. Crate. You can start out with a small one and get a bigger one later, or start out with a big one that has a divider in it. Collar and leash. Some breeders send those home with each puppy but I have found that everyone likes different things and what gets sent home doesn't always work. Toys. Rope toys, balls, Wobble Wag Giggle Ball (some dogs really love those), Benebone (all mine love Benebones), No stuffing toys (they can be really nice). Goldens LOVE to carry things in their mouth almost all the time, especially when they are excited to see you! Try to take them to a pet store (after they've had all their shots and/or your vet gives the OK) and let them pick out their own toys. My dogs love it when I let them do that! You might be surprised at what they pick. Food and Water. Make sure you have dishes specifically for your new puppy's food and water, and make sure you have food and water ready for them when they arrive to their new home (I detail the kind of food I use down below). Training: When the puppy is old enough, please consider enrolling in obedience classes. Until then, you can start at home. (You can find all the books I have listed in this post on Amazon.com. You do not have to buy all of them. Just pick out the ones you are most interested in. I have put the ones that I use in bold letters. The others are some that other people have suggested to me.) 51 Puppy Tricks: Step-by-Step Activities to Engage, Challenge, and Bond with Your Puppy by Kyra Sundance (I love all her books!) If you plan to do therapy work, children and the people in the nursing homes really love seeing tricks! Not to mention, it is a great way to train and bond with your new puppy! Take a look at the website: http://www.domorewithyourdog.com/trickdog/ It's full of great info AND you can apply for titles! How cool is that?! Food: When they go home with you they will be eating: Diamond Naturals Large Breed Puppy Lamb and Rice The Whole Pet Diet: Eight Weeks to Great Health for Dogs and Cats by Andi Brown Raw and Natural Nutrition for Dogs, Revised Edition: The Definitive Guide to Homemade Meals by Lew Olson Raw Dog Food: Make It Easy for You and Your Dog by Carina Beth Macdonald Natural Nutrition for Dogs and Cats: The Ultimate Diet by Kymythy Schultze Dinner PAWsible: A Cookbook of Nutritious, Homemade Meals for Cats and Dogs by D.V.M. Cathy Alinovi Treats: Rachael Ray Nutrish Grain Free Dog Treats & Soup Bones (The Soup Bones are great chew bones for the puppies) Milos Kitchen dog treats Apple slices and carrots are also great for your puppy to chew on. Health: PLEASE read through the "health" page on my website Natural Health for Your Dog (Herbology At Home) by Anke Bialas (it is a really good book) I have started using NuVet for my dogs. It helps support their immune system. Everything is 100% natural. Your puppies will be started on it so I really recommend you keep them on it, at least for a while. I will extend the contract to 3 years if you keep using it.You may order online by clicking on this link www.nuvet.com/44245 or calling 800-474-7044 and using Order Code: 44245 NuVet Labs will notify me when ordered. I will post more info about NuVet and send an email to everyone getting a puppy. Some of my favorite websites: Leerburg.com Has great dog info – training – Raw feeding and tons of info. Chewy.com – great toys and food and free delivery – they have frozen raw food too!! Puppyintraining.com This is a great website with lots of info and ideas Dogfoodadvisor.com Has all the rankings of dogfoods – even raw – check this out when you decide to change the pups food. Also good to check out who has had recalls etc. And of course AKC.org Shela had 7 boys & 4 girls on 5-21-17 and Addie had 6 boys & 4 girls on 5-24-17 They will be ready for their new homes in the middle of July. Boys and girls are available in Addie's litter and boys are available in Shela's. Shela's puppies have the black noses and Addie's have the pink noses.
We went to two AKC shows this fall. One in Enid, OK, October 15th & 16th Merlin, got 2nd place both days in Open dog. And the Central Oklahoma Golden Retriever Club Specialty November 19th & 20th. He got 2nd place on the first day and 1st place the second day in owner handler! So proud of my boy! I thank The Lord for him all the time! "Give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever." 1 Chronicles 16:34 (KJV) Ziva's sire, Xander, finished his AKC Novice A Obedience title! We are so proud of him and his owner!
I had 3 beautiful litters of puppies this year! Merlin & Shela had a litter of 11 in January, Xander & Addie had a litter of 9 in April, and Xander & Nimueh had a litter of 4 in September. Since I won't be having any more puppies this year I wanted to share some of my favorite pictures! Some of the picture were taken by Penny: www.faithhasmade.com I kept Xander & Addie's Purple girl. Her name is Ziva. She is my pride and joy! I thank the Lord for her everyday! I don't know what I would do without her!
We were blessed to get a new boy from Lake Country Goldens this year as well! He is a very fun loving sweet boy! He has been such a blessing! Here are some pictures of them. Ziva's pedigree: http://k9data.com/pedigree.asp?ID=778673 Hero's pedigree: http://k9data.com/pedigree.asp?ID=773695 |
